About DNS Lookup
DNS records tell the internet where a domain's website, email and services live. This tool resolves records live over DNS-over-HTTPS through public resolvers, so you see what visitors see right now. Use it to verify a new A record after pointing your domain to a host, confirm MX records for email delivery, or check that a TXT record for domain verification, SPF or DKIM has propagated.
Frequently asked questions
- Why don't I see my new DNS record yet?
- Resolvers cache records for their TTL. After a change, wait up to the old record's TTL (often 5 minutes to an hour) and check again.
- Which record types are supported?
- A, AAAA, MX, NS, TXT and CNAME. Choose "All" to query them all at once.
- What does NXDOMAIN mean?
- The domain or hostname does not exist in DNS. Check the spelling, or whether the domain is registered and has nameservers.
