PayPal integration for SaaS (ShipAny Next and Two)

Accept PayPal in ShipAny Next and ShipAny Two — business account setup, sandbox testing, webhook verification and order callbacks, plus which editions support PayPal today.

Last updated: Oct 8, 2026

PayPal is still the preferred way to pay for many buyers. ShipAny Next and ShipAny Two ship with a ready-to-use PayPal provider for one-time payments and subscriptions (webhook endpoint /api/payment/notify/paypal). In ShipAny TanStack the PayPal settings are reserved but the provider isn't switched on yet — use Stripe or Creem there for now.

What ShipAny handles

  • PayPal checkout: users pick PayPal in the payment-method dialog and are redirected to PayPal to pay.
  • Sandbox and live environments, switchable in the admin panel.
  • Webhook verification using your PayPal webhook ID, so only genuine payment notifications update orders.
  • Callback redirects: in ShipAny Two, one-time payments return to /settings/payments and subscriptions to /settings/billing (you can change both in the checkout route).

Setup

  1. Create a PayPal business account.
  2. In the PayPal developer dashboard, copy the client ID and secret from API Credentials — sandbox ones while testing, live ones in production.
  3. In your ShipAny admin panel, open Settings → Payment → PayPal and fill in the client ID and secret. Leave the webhook ID empty for now.
  4. In Testing Tools → Sandbox Accounts, use a sandbox buyer to complete a purchase from your /pricing page.
  5. Create a webhook for your domain in the PayPal dashboard and paste its webhook ID into the admin panel.

Tips

  • Don't rely on the redirect alone. If a buyer pays and closes the tab before returning, only the webhook can complete the order — always configure it.
  • Switch sandbox and live credentials together when you launch.
